Puppy and novice obedience classes

We have just completed the first 3 weeks of classes for new handlers. We are running 3 classes simultaneously on Monday nights with Jenny, Helen and Simon taking a separate class of around 6 dogs each.

Additionally, Sandra wood is running a class on Sunday afternoons.

The classes are proving extremely popular with the weather warming up, owners are pretty keen to bring their young dogs out and socialize them while learning some new skills. Jenny is organizing further new classes for the next few weeks.

We encourage regular training away from the classes and most owners are studiously doing their homework and training the new skills away from the classes, with some great results. Already the instructors are seeing some clear improvements in many of the dogs as they return each week.

While the basic obedience commands are being taught, handlers are also learning techniques to better communicate with their dogs and are also being exposed to some basic agility and several owners have indicated a desire to move into agility further down the line.
