The Blenheim Canine Training Club runs many different classes during the week.


Beginners class
We run classes through the year for puppies and new dogs (except January)  to assist owners in learning to train their dogs. You will learn the principles of training, treating, communicating and managing your dog. You will be shown how to correct undesirable behaviour and how to reward good behaviour.

All basic commands are covered: sit, down, wait, stay, watch etc.

Classes are reasonably frequent so you will need to book your place in advance as the classes are very popular.

Date & times vary slightly but currently we are running classes on Mondays at 6:30pm.
Class duration: 6 weeks x 1 hour.

Cost: $70


Novice and Advanced Obedience Classes
We run classes for novices and the more experienced handlers whose dogs already have some training behind them. To attend, it is essential to have completed a basic class in either obedience or agility then  become a club member, membership forms at the club rooms.

Date & time: Thursdays at 6:30pm
Class duration 1 hour.

Club members only.


Foundation Class

This course is run 2 or 3 times a year: Between February and August.
Dogs requirements: Dogs need to be 12 months or older. Dogs must be under control and have a recall.

This is the initial agility course for those wishing to take their first steps into the world of agility training. Dogs and owners are taken through the agility basics of waits, Hurdles, flexi and chute tunnels, weaves, long jump, hoop.

After graduating from the foundation course you can carry on into the beginner’s course

Date & time: Tuesdays at 7:00pm Class duration: 6 weeks

Beginners Course
This course is run 2 or  3 times a year: Between March and  October.

Follows on from Foundation course.

In the beginners course you learn to gradually string together the equipment so at the end of your 6 week course you are able to do an elementary course. Contact equipment is added and slowly raised, weave training progress.

After graduating from beginners course you can join the club and go to Wednesday club training

Class duration: 6 weeks

6:00pm – Starters and Novice class
7:00pm – Intermediate class
7:45pm – Senior class
